WHOO LET'S DO IT AGAIN! Gosh, Ame stop being a human being and learning things, your personality is all over the place. First you're old and jaded then you're young and haughty, now you're middle aged and mellow, what gives.

He'll be mentoring Taryn Yan this year!

Name: Ame Gatér (AH-May Ga-TER)
Sex: Male
Age: 61
District: 5
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 183lbs

Body Type: Tall and skinny with broad shoulders and chest.

Eye Colour: Sky Blue

Hair Colour: Golden Yellow

Health Issues:
Ame's vision was already poor when he was younger- it's only gotten worse over the years, and it's gotten to the point where he's started wearing glasses again. He's getting old and he can't move as easily as he used to in his youth- nor is he as flexible. However, he still believes he hasn't left his prime, and no lack of flexibility or otherwise will stop him. He's still retaining the youth of his younger years, but even now, it's starting to fade, and Ame's getting concerned about his appearance.

Family:
Levina Gatér- Mother: Deceased. She worked for a time at the electrical plant until she was paralyzed in an electrical accident, leaving her homebound. She died when Ame was 20.
Alven Gatér- Father: Deceased. A member of the original rebellion, Alven was a fighter for District Five, though he was late to the deployment. He at last went off to war when Ame was six, and it was later found that he had died in battle.
Tidus Gatér- Brother: (64). A Peacekeeper in his earlier years, Tidus was a notorious bully, even after Ame's victory in the games. He's never been fond of his brother, seeing him as a weakling. Tidus is currently retired from peacekeeping, but took up being a bouncer instead. He currently is the bodyguard of a master chef friend of his. He gets to attend many Capitol parties due to this, and still picks on Ame.
Finn Gatér- Son: (6) After the 25th games, Ame tried to get a better handle on his family life. Ame ended up with Finn sometime after that, and does his best to take care of the boy. Finn is loud and not the smartest kid, but he knows what he likes. He's quite dear to Ame, being the last family Ame has left. His mother is unknown and not in the picture.

Significant Other:
Unknown. It's said that Ame has a spouse, though he's keeping things a tightly lipped secret. The only thing publicly known for sure is that Ame has recently started wearing a gold braided ring around his finger.

Personality:

It's very hard to pin down a personality for Ame at times. It's changed quite a bit throughout the years, though not naturally and gradually as to be expected.

He was once a notorious flirt in his younger years, the prize of many a Capitolite's eye. However, he never really settled down, and thought quite highly of himself for the longest time, often coming across as a bit of a narcissist.

After hitting his forties, he started being less arrogant all the time, though he was still solidly stuck in his habit of acting "holier-than-thou because I'm prettier than you". He took his appearance quite seriously, and was quite proud of the fact he got through his Games without a facial disfigurement.

Recently, after getting his son dropped in his lap, though, things have become a bit more hectic in Ame's life, and he's calmed down a bit, being less haugty. He cares about what little family he has left, though he still will easily make a joke at anyone's expense, whether it be another victor or himself. He's stopped seriously flirting with people and now only does it in jest, and has become less worried about his appearance. He's even started tying his hair back and wearing glasses these days, though he tries to get the best fashion he can. It's hard without his stylist by his side, though. He is rather amicable and understanding these days, though, and tries to get along with people and support them. Even so, old grudges are hard to drop and he keeps up a friendly rivalry with fellow victor Ramses Massuri.

Hunger Games:
Ame Gater is one of the oldest mentors in the Capitol. At age 61, most would assume he's seen nearly all of the games- maybe even the time before the Dark Days. They would be right.

Ame wasn't very old when the Dark Days started, nor was he old when the Dark Days ended. He remembers the war vividly, and his father, Alven, was lost in the fighting.

Ame was seventeen when he was Reaped for his games. At the time he was a nerdy boy who wasn't at all capitol material, and he was absolutely terrified. He was forced to find ways to build his confidence so as not to be seen as weak and helpless. It worked, for a time, and Ame took on the personality of the arrogant vain prettyboy the Capitol now knows today.

Personality, however didn't always help- Ame got a training score of five, as he wasn't nearly good at combat. He had a sort of natural affinity for long, curved knives, but his inexperience was clear an caused him to stumble and get a poor score. He wasn't at all a fighter. However, 17 years of running away from his bully of a brother meant he was fast- very fast.

In the first seconds of the games, Ame grabbed a backpack and fled the cornucopia, using his speed to his advantage and getting out of the bloodbath within seconds. He managed to ally with the district 11 female for a while, and she taught him to climb. He also bonded with the district 6 boy, a young 12 year old who Ame saw as a little brother.

Ame, at one point, was alone while the memebers of his alliance were setting traps, and his bag was stolen. He got it back, but was unable to help the theif, the District Ten girl, before she fell to her death. Not long after, Ame and the district 6 boy saw the Female Tribute from one flushed away in a rush of water. The guilt of both of the deaths made Ame feel horrible about his inability to rescue them.

He also had an interesting relationship with the District 7 female. They were very close from the start, despite Ame's protests. She had a tendency to pick on him in amusing ways, including throwing him into the training room's pool and stealing his underwear in the arena. Unfortunately, Ame ended up accidentally killing her in a gamemaker-induced hallucinogenic state.

Still mourning, the District 5 tribute was then confronted with the district 8 tributes, who were a pair for the record books, slaughtering everything in their path. Although he wasn't nearly as strong as either of them, he managed to kill them both with an electrical trap.

In the end, it was Ame against three other tributes. Ame was the only one older than 13. Certain events with a muttation awakened a latent fear of death, and Ame panicked, believing that the four of them were going to die horrible painful deaths. The district 3 girl's death minutes later only solidified the thought in his mind. The kindest thing he felt he could do was to make the children's death quick and painless.

Ten minutes later, Ame Gatér had won the first annual Hunger Games by killing the two children reaped from District Six.

The Capitol welcomed it's first Victor of the Hunger Games with open arms.

Post Games:

After the Games, Ame had to spend a while recovering. He never really got over having to kill two children, and whenever he mentored the tributes, he would always mentor one who was 13 or younger. Outwardly, though, he once again adopted the mask of self-centered narcissism to detach himself from his actions.

The first victor, he was also the first to be prostituted by the president at the time, much to his chagrin. At 61, Ame no longer has to sell himself, but he still often mentors games. He has recently started working with other mentors as a therapist of sorts, to help them cope with their victory and prostitution if they go through it.

It's unknown as of right now if he's going to be mentoring in the 44th annual Hunger Games.
